My journey with God

“Please tell me you’re not going to post your religious stuff.” Says my colleague as I tell her with giddy excitement about finally starting a blog. “Seriously, stay clear of the Jesus thing and church. You’ll get extremely negative feedback.”

Let me just get it out right now – I do follow Christ and I believe with my whole being that He died on the Cross so we could have life. Apart from writing, reading, cloud gazing, pretty things, God is a subject I also want to write about. Why? Because He is in all the things in my life. I simply cannot extract Him from my passion.

It’s strange that people see me as “religious” just because they’re not sure in what box I should fit in. That is actually an awesome thing, not that they see me as religious but because that is exactly the same situation Jesus was in. People (especially religious leaders, ironically) didn’t know what to do with Him, so they made an end to Him… or attempted to. Isn’t it strange that we always want to destroy things we don’t know. Granted, Christians do not have a good track record. Some made it a religion and it was turned into a dogmatic, bland, religion.

So how do you believe in a God that you can’t see? You pray for faith in Him. You see, praying doesn’t change
God, it changes you. It’s simple and it’s real. And it’s awesome.

“We declare God’s wisdom, a secret that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began.” 1 Corinthians 2:7 NIV

So, yes, you will see posts about my walk with God… about struggles, about opening your heart to this beautiful truth.
